About Me

Betty's PhotoI've lived in Alaska all my life…yes Alaska "The Last Frontier".  Why Alaska?  Well, it has more opportunity than anywhere else and if I want to get lost for a few days, that's about an hour drive in any direction.  I'm a website designer (more acurately Webmaster) during the nine-to-five rush and have a part time job to take a break.  I've also been married for 12 years to my wonderful husband and we have two amazing children.

Best thing about my life are the gadgets I get to test out!  My hubby likes to see what's out there and use that knowledge to increase productivity for his clients.  In early 2009, my husband got me a PDA, Nokia N810, which has so many features i'm still learning them.  The best part of my N810 is I converted it to a ebook reader: all done with free software.  Each book cost about $5 – $25 dollars and can be downloaded, anywhere a wi-fi connection is available, in a couple of clicks.

At first there was a little set back…I didn't read very much and until I figured out what type of genre I liked I just keep looking at book covers and not opening them.  First recommendation was from my friend Amanda (Thanks, Amanda, you started this by the way!) who told me to read Twilight, yes Twilight and I loved it!  I've always loved Sci-Fi things; Stargate, Star Trek, Underworld, Supernatural and for goodness sakes my favorite movie of all time is The Fifth Element!  I should have known what type of books I'd like to read right?  Well, I didn't but thanks to my good friend and her recommendation I found my genre.  Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance.  Now I can't get enough, every chance I get I'm reading.

Update:  I've tested out both, the NOOK and NOOKcolor.  And I'm exctied to say NOOKcolor is by far the best of the bunch.  Easy navigation and at the touch of button I can purchase new books.  I'm still trying to figure out the audio book portion but I'm so addicted to reading everything I can download I haven't focused to much on the logistics of installing an audio book.

So, I hope you enjoy reading about my reviews.

Betty
