Atlantis Unleashed
(Warriors of Poseidon, Book 3)
by Alyssa Day
Well, well, well, let's see. Last time I left off this exciting new series- The Warriors of Poseiden in Atlantis Awakeing – there was a martyr at the end of the book named Justice. Justice, who is half-Atlantean and half-Nereid, sacrifices himself to the vampire goddess, Anubisa, to save his half-brother, Ven and his mate, Erin (who happens to be be a gem singer, who can also heal his other half-brother's unborn baby…say that ten times.) from certain death. This brother business was a shock to all parties involved because Justice had a geas placed on him; if he ever told anyone his secret he would go on killing rampage and deal death to all those who heard it…or…go insane. So, before he can kill everyone, he is whisked off by Anubisa and eventually does a great Sybil, with multiple personalities and a vision of his true mate, a red-haired-green-eyed beauty named Keely. And because of his new mind meltdown it's no surprise when the vampire goddess drops him like ton of bricks into the Void. Oh, and Keely, who is an archeologist and also has a special talent, being able to read an objects past, while on a dig finds an exotic fish carved out of wood and is drawn to what she see's in it's past; a blue-haired warrior…(yup, that is one of Justice's features). And, that is how Atlantis Unleashed begins.
Reading this book during Justice's mind meltdown was very realistic and Ms. Day presents a very believable few chapters of a mind breaking apart. You get to experience what it would be like for Justice. At first I didn't get it, because I thought my book reader got a bad copy and/or I was just hitting the back button instead of the forward button. Silly me. Also, I like that Keely uses her gift and has become a successful archeologist, but Keely's personality reminded me of what I don't want to be. Stubborn to a fault. Good thing she finds a good warrior she can use all of that stubbornness and help him with his problems. Also, make sure you read the other books before you dive into this one it'll make the references to other characters a lot easier to understand. Great addition to the Warriors of Poseidon, especially with all the other warrior snippets sprinkled throughout the book. Day definitely has some interesting warrior stories in store!
